She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ed, her son Bill, several siblings in Japan and her beloved cat Chibi.
Yaeko is survived by her daughters Martha (David) Little, Kathy (Terry) Shearer, and Phyllis (Dale) Perdue, and daughter-in-law Laurie Walsh; grandchildren Courtney (Kirk) Woznek, Brad Shearer, Brandon (Elizabeth) Walsh, Tyler Walsh, and Justin Perdue; great-grandsons Levi and Logan Walsh; and siblings and family in Japan.
After her marriage to Ed in 1957, the Marine Corps took them from Iwakuni to Quantico VA, Washington DC, Reading PA, and then to Havelock NC, where they spent eleven years raising the family. After Ed’s retirement from the Marines in 1979, employment with Rockwell International took them to Reynoldsburg OH and Corpus Christi TX before their arrival in Rockledge FL in 1989.
Yaeko enjoyed sewing, gardening and crafts, weekly bingo games and playing many rounds of solitaire. She was a wonderful cook, and her family will especially miss her deviled eggs, pepper steak, curry stew, sukiyaki, and shrimp curry rice.
As per her wishes, there will be no public service.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Health First for their kindness in her final days.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FloridaMemorialFH-Gardens.com for the Walsh family.
