

She was born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1927. She came to the U.S. as a child and grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She married her love, John Hughes Crawford, in 1945 after he returned from World War II. They met in her hometown of Baton Rouge before he departed for Europe to serve as a fighter pilot. They corresponded during his time overseas and he proposed marriage while abroad. Their love and marriage continued for 67 years until his passing in 2013.
Yvonne enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking. She and John had six loving children, five of whom survive her- Bob, Ralph, Anne, Richard, and Christine. Her dear son Mark pre-deceased her in 1999. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine Foss of Baton Rouge, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
While her health declined in her later years, she was a resilient and strong lady who continued to enjoy the small things in life and kept her beautiful smile and bright blue eyes even through rough times.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 207 at 11 a.m. at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL.
