Al was a farmer starting when he was 13 worked on a dairy for many years. Worked at the Easco hand tool factory making Craftsman tools for a number of years. In 1987 he had a construction business and shop he ran from Cave Spring. Known as “Big Al" by many in the area. He was a great backhoe operator did much work all around N.W.A. Al worked for the corps of engineers putting in the Playground Equipment and security gates in the Corp Parks around Beaver Lake and Table Rock Lake.
Al was an avid Motorcycle Rider until he could not ride any longer. He was always wanting a new toy be it wave runner, go cart, or side by side. He always wanted everyone else to have as much fun as he was having.
He always made sure Kathy, his kids and grandchildren were taken care of. Oftentimes if he knew of someone having a hard time providing for their children he would help them. Oftentimes he would sound gruff but was actually very soft hearted.
He is proceeded in death by both parents.
He is survived by his Significant other Kathy Cox;son Alan Kirchberg and April of Ridgely, MO; daughters Lisa and Robert Robertson of Gays Mills, WI, Tori Dobson of Prairie DeShane, WI; brother Robert and Judy Miller of Aurora, IL; sister Joan Miller of Monroe, WI; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Rollins Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 5 to 7pm.
Private family memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
