Annie Jean Mathias passed away at home on May 21, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born on June 4, 1936 near Cartersville, GA to Ralph and Annie Laura Carnes. Annie retired from Rogers Public Schools in 1994.
Annie’s faith was in a non-denominational Christian home-based fellowship. Annie was a gracious host, kind, and a loving person. She had a beautiful spirit to the end.
Annie is survived by her husband, Joe Mathias, whom she married in Cartersville, GA on January 22, 1957. She is also survived by three children: Mark Mathias (Dana) of Bentonville, AR, Jean Anne Pickering (Darrel) of Texarkana, TX, and Tim Mathias of Hudson, FL and Brenda Mathias of Hull, GA. In addition, she leaves behind seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Annie Laura Carnes, and two sisters, Judy Lambeth and Bessie Mathias.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 10:00-11:00am, with service immediately to follow at 11:00am. The service will be held at 1660 N Dixieland Rd. in Rogers, AR, with burial to follow at Benton County Memorial Park.
