Dennis Lay Compton, Senior Master Sergeant, U.S. Airforce Retired, born July 12, 1965, in Belleville, Illinois, he departed this world on June 10, 2024, in Bentonville, Arkansas, after 58 years of life, during which he built his family and served our country with a career in the U.S. Air Force. His service of 23 years in the U.S. Air Force included serving in Operation Desert Storm and bases around the world with his family. His three children, Natasha, Nerissa, and Nathaniel, bear witness to his love of God, family, and country. He loved scuba diving the seas and oceans around the world, enjoyed outdoor activities like target shooting, fishing, along with river floats that included family and friends. He would occasionally visit farmer’s markets to find his favorite food, vine-ripened tomatoes. He enjoyed playing board games with his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. His caring nature was apparent as he would do anything for anyone in need. Also giving to God in his Christian faith.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Telford Ray and Rosalie Compton; his precious grandson, Titus Compton; and siblings, Gary Chitwood, Danny Compton, Deborah Compton-Briggs, and Dana Compton-Rodgers.
He is survived by his children, Nathaniel Compton, Nerissa Bartling (Austin), and Natasha Overton (Steve); brothers, Dwight Chitwood, David Compton (Tracey Spriggs), Douglas Compton (Mary); sister, Donna Miller (Andy); brother-in-law Alex Briggs; and his cherished grandchildren, Lilly, Eli, Kendrick, Taliya, Soraia, Serena, and Siegen.
