

Howard Wayne Shaffer, 84, of Garfield, Arkansas entered into God’s kingdom on May 25th, 2024. He passed away in his loving home in Rogers, Arkansas. Howard was born to Albert Lee Shaffer & Maggie Byler Shaffer
He is preceded by: parents, Albert & Maggie Shaffer; Doyle Shaffer, Carol Eitel, Terry Faulkenbury; brothers, Loyd & Joe Shaffer; sisters, Ruby-Lula and Sharon.
Howard, beloved and devoted husband, father, uncle and friend, is survived by his darling wife, Frances; sisters, Lorie Haloway and Marie & Warren Maine; son, Mark Shaffer, and son-in-law, Billy Faulkenbury; daughter-in-law, Joan Shaffer & Elizabeth Faulkenbury; grandchildren, Jordan Shaffer and Cody Faulkenbury; as well as Alisha, Daniel, Skyler & Abbygail Gonzalez, and many nieces and nephews.
Upon leaving Garfield schools, Howard move to Yakima, Washington to live with his mom and helped raise his brothers and sisters working in a apple orchard, then returned back in 1974 to Rogers, Arkansas. In the summer of '88 he met and then married in '89 the love of his life, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin, Frances. Working and retiring from Stone Container, Howard got bored and went to work for the Roger’s public school transportation system; helping kids of all ages for many years, he retired 2 times and then still worked part time for the love of children.
Howard had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and his laugh was infectious to everyone around him. A man of many stories, a man with a simple taste of jeans and button ups, he focused on providing his wife with the best life possible without worrying about himself. Howard was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family that loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in all he knew.
