He was preceded in death by his father, James Stokes, Sr., his paternal grandfather, Glenn Stokes and his maternal grandparents, Ellis and Freda Cairns.
Jay worked for Wal-Mart for 23 years before retiring. He had a passion for the Kansas City Chiefs which was unsurpassed. He attend as many home games as he could and faithfully watched the rest on TV with his companions Jr. and Nellie, the dogs he loved so much.
He is survived by his wife, Emma of the home. They were united in marriage on April 4, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jay is survived by his mother, Jackie Jobe and husband, Jimmy; his in-laws, Don and Louise Honeycutt; his 107 year old grandmother, Revah Stokes; his brother, Jeff Stokes and wife, Debbie; two sister, Julie Yates and Kelly Fleming and husband, Greg; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
