John Allen Hickman

John was born April 12, 1938 in Pea Ridge to the late Clyde Wilson Hickman and Margaret Florelle (Woods) Hickman.

John graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1956 and married the love of his life, Beth Prior Hickman, in Biloxi, MS in 1960.

John retired from the USAF in 1979, having served 20 years for his country, and then retired again in 2001 from Scott Paper/Fibertech/PGI. He loved working with the Pea Ridge Historical Society, the NWA Genealogical Society, working with his computers, and photography, especially of his family.

John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Beth, of the home; three sons, Tim Hickman of Lee’s Summit, MO, Dennis Hickman of Bentonville, and Daniel Hickman of Bella Vista; two daughters, Nancy Merkey and her husband Gary of Centerton, and Mary Thompson of Conway; one brother, Jim Hickman and his wife Bridgette of Bella Vista; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 nephews, and 1 niece.

Graveside services for John will be 1pm Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements made under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
