

Bob was born June 16, 1927 in Grand Saline, TX to the late Robert A. and Sadie (Wallace) Davenport.
Bob was an avid domino’s player, and he and his partner were champions of the senior center in Bentonville. He served his country proudly in the Navy during WWII, and went on to be a Dallas Police Officer for 27 years before retiring for the first time. He then worked for Harris Axle and Wheel for 9 years, retired again, and finally drove a school bus for the Bentonville and Rogers Schools for 10 years before retiring for the last time.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James Robert Davenport and Brian Wayne Davenport; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, HelenTalley Davenport, of the home; three grandchildren, Staci Fincher and her husband Kelly of Ennis, TX, Andy Davenport and his wife Nicole of Providence Valley, TX, and Breanne Davenport of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Trevor Davenport, Brenton Fincher, Luci Fincher, Graci Fincher, Mallory Davenport, and Jackie Parker; two daughters in law, Martha Davenport Denton of Ennis, TX, and Diane Davenport of Austin, TX; four sisters in law, Billie Burns of Bentonville, Betty Talley of Bentonville, Patsy Talley of Holdenville, OK, and Wilma Bishop of Rogers; three brothers in law, Derrell Benson of Gravette, Bob Burns of Bentonville, and David Bishop of Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Bob will be 10am Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Bentonville 1st Baptist Church with a visitation the night before, Wednesday, September 15 from 5-7pm at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
