

Samuel Ellis “Ellis” Woods, 80, longtime Rogers businessman passed away Wednesday, August 19. He was born December 9, 1934 in Fayetteville to the late Samuel Edward and Daisy Cramer Woods. As owner of Woods Heating and Sheet Metal for more than 50 years, he was one of the few people who enjoyed their work as much as he enjoyed his time at the coffee shop. For nearly 60 years he was the loving husband of Rosa Woods, who preceded him in June, 2014. “The same wife, the same business and the same house” he said many times. He was a Mason, long-time member of Rogers First Church of the Nazarene and recently attended Bella Vista Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosa Woods; 4 sisters, Elizabeth Frye, Sammy Watts, Ruby Christie and Tiny Woods; a brother, Carl “Buddy” Woods and a grandson, Jacob Woods. Survivors include his son, Samuel Ellis Woods, Jr. and wife, Tonya of Centerton; 3 daughters, Rosa Lea Zajicek and husband Bob of Bentonville, Brenda Sue Woods of Rogers, Melissa Lynn Webster and husband Todd of Little Flock; 2 sisters, Julie Stewart and Frances Spencer of Durham; grandchildren, Joshua (Dena) Woods, Amanda (Michael) Hyatt, Bo Zajicek, Jason (Tempest) Oxley, Jessica Ellis, Nick Webster, Nathan Webster; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
