Steve "Big Papa" Sawyer

Steve was known as “Big Papa” to his coworkers at Tyson Foods where he worked for more than 34 years. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed grilling, boating, and crappie fishing.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Sawyer of Gravette; son, Dustin Sawyer of Rogers; daughters, Krissy Beard and husband Matt of Cave Springs, Wynter Fox and husband Jeff of Pea Ridge, Whitney Volker of Rogers, Stacy Sawyer of Rogers, Erica Sawyer of Rogers; siblings, Ronnie Sawyer of Summerville, SC, Larry Sawyer of Gravette, Randy Sawyer and wife Amelia of Pea Ridge, Carla Kara and husband Jerry of Gravette, Rick Sonnenberg and wife Marcella of Rogers; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his wife, Kathleen Sawyer.

Visitation will be 5 to 6pm on Friday, March 4, 2016, with services beginning at 6pm in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Dan Fagala.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Heart Association.
