Susan Diane Bright, of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 72. She was born on January 7, 1954, in Pensacola, Florida. As the daughter of two United States military service members, Susan spent her early years living in various places before her family eventually settled in Northwest Arkansas. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1972.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Martha Smith; her beloved husband of 38 years, Darrel “Butch” Bright; her daughter, Holly Bockholt; and her sister, Kat Williams.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa (Nathan) Martin; her son-in-law, Jeff (Angela) Bockholt; and her cherished grandchildren, Isaac and Samuel Martin, and Dyson, Riley, and Hannah Bockholt. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Susan was a woman of deep and abiding faith who found great joy in attending church and participating in Bible study. She had many gifts, including a talent for quilting, a love for writing, and a beautiful singing voice that brought comfort and joy to those around her. Above all, Susan was devoted to her family and friends. She had a kind and giving heart, and she created a home filled with warmth, love, and grace.
She will be remembered for her faith, her creativity, and the love she so freely shared. Susan is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
