Buford Vincent Haney

Mr. Haney was born November 8, 1931 in Rome, GA, son of the late Stella Silvers Haney and Paul Haney. Mr. Haney worked at Sears for 47 years and also was a Heating, Air & Refrigeration Instructor at Coosa Valley Technical College for 18 years. He was an avid animal lover and a NASCAR and football fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Melanie McCary (Brett), of Rome; son, Joseph Haney (Kim), of Armuchee; grandchildren, Jake Farrer, of Rome, Micah Farrer (Lindsay), of Madison, TN, Savannah Haney, of Armuchee, and Connor Haney, of Armuchee; great grandchild, Jeremiah Farrer, of Rome; brothers, Gordon Haney and Alton Haney, both of Lindale; and special friends and neighbors, Ray and Donna Cordle, of Lindale. His Conns Lake Road family, Redmond Regional Medical Center operating room kids, and Caregiver, Redva Pritchett also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haney was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Haney in June 2012, a son, Corey Haney in July 2003, and a brother, Donald Haney.

The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home, Rome, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM.
