It is with extremely heavy hearts that the family of Evan Tucker Williams, 6610 Hunters Glen
Dr, Knoxville, TN announce his passing on June 1, 2020.
Tucker was a beloved son, brother, fiancé, grandson, nephew, cousin, brother-in-arms and
great friend to many. He is survived by his parents Jim and Kara Williams, Rome, GA; brother
& sister-in-law Walker & Megan Williams, Warner Robins, GA; fiancée Kaitlyn Christenbury,
Knoxville, TN; grandparents Bob & Loraine Tucker, Rome, GA; Nancy Williams, Fernandina
Beach, FL; Dr Jim Williams Jr, Fernandina Beach, FL; aunts, uncles and their spouses – Bobby
Tucker, Rome, GA; Matt Williams, Fernandina Beach, FL; Jim & Anna Ruth Flagg, Cartersville,
GA; Adam & Dr Tammy Williams, Atlanta, GA; Russell & Rachel Edwards, Cartersville, GA and
Jarrett & Amy Potts, Cary, NC and cousins – Samuel Flagg, Christabel Flagg, Abby Potts, Emma
Potts, Jarrett Potts, Olivia Potts, Anna Scoggins, Chloe Edwards, Emma Edwards, Madison
Tucker, Bo Tucker, Zoie Armstrong, Grace Williams and Lola Williams and many, many friends
to whom we are grateful for the outpouring of love.
Sergeant Tucker Williams served in the USMC February 8, 2010 – December 3, 2017. Served in
Operation Enduring Freedom, Helmund province, Upper Sangin Valley, Kajaki Sofla,
Afghanistan. Tucker was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart. Tucker’s other
military achievements include Combat Action Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service
Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Nato Medal – ISAF
Afghanistan, Armed Forces Reserve Medal “M”, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Expert Rifle
Qualification. Tucker was the Academic Honor Graduate of his Basic Combat Engineering
Class.
Tucker attended Johnson Elementary, Berry College Middle School, graduated from Rome
High School in 2008 and attended Georgia Southern University. In high school Tucker was an
All Area Honorable Mention Wrestler for his Junior and Senior Seasons.
Tucker was an avid gun enthusiast, black diamond snowboarder, played guitar, enjoyed
fishing, hunting, cars and motorcycles, but most of all he was a true friend to many people.
His laugh and wit will be immeasurably missed.

Daniels Funeral Home Rome, GA has charge of funeral services. Due to Covid19 restrictions,
we must have an outdoor service. Gravesite services will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Garden,
1 Church St SE, Rome, GA on Monday, June 8th at 11 AM.
