
Mrs. Thompson was born in Burkburnett, Texas November 6, 1921, daughter of the late Larry Kilroy and the late Emma Meyer Kilroy. She was preceded in death by her husband Col. Harry Melvin Thompson, one son Michael Charles Thompson and one sister Pauline Lewis.
Mrs. Thompson grew up in Texas and later married Col. Harry M. Thompson on June 6, 1942. She and her husband both were survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 while he was stationed there in the Army Air Corp, now Known as the Air Force, as a Colonel who piloted fighter planes on the Hawaiian Islands. She was an Air Force Wife who traveled the world with her husband. She was a heck of a golfer and an avid bridge player. She was a great mother and wife and will be greatly missed. She was also member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rome, GA.
She is survived by a daughter; Gail Ann Sharber and her husband Robert of Marietta, a daughter-n-law; Susan E. Thompson of Stevensville, Michigan, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service and mass will be conducted at a later date in the Chapel of Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. where she will be buried alongside her husband.
