Niels was born to Hans and Agnete on November 1st, 1936 in Nakskov, Denmark. Niels studied carpentry and went on to serve in the Danish Navy before moving to British Columbia. Niels met his wife, Pattie, in 1989 and moved to Rome where they married in May of 1990. Together with Pattie, he put his considerable talents as a master carpenter and builder to work in their business, Pacific International Construction. Niels (“Papa”) loved rowing and wrestling as a young man, model ship building, hunting, fishing, camping with his family and traveling throughout Canada and the US with Pattie and friends. He was an accomplished sport shooter and enjoyed time with close friends at the Floyd County Wildlife Gun Club. He had a special heart for the children at Murphy-Harpst Children’s Center and spent many hours there refurbishing Family Cottage. He was patient and kind and always gave more to others than he would take. He had a way of working with people that made them feel valued and important. He loved his family well and leaves all who were blessed to know him, better for it.
