

Mrs. Doster was born in Canton, GA. December 27, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Brodie F. Tolbert and Eula McClure Tolbert. She was also preceded in death by her husband Mr. Winnie (Wimpy) Fred Doster, who died in 1985, to whom she was married for 40 years, and four brothers; Robert, Jack, Frank and Mack Tolbert.
Mrs. Doster grew up in Rome. She loved sewing, was active in the Floyd County Democratic Party for years, and was very active in the Rome Little Theater where she was a life member. Acting was a large part of her life. She even appeared in several episodes of “In the Heat of the Night” with Carroll O’Connor during the 80’s filmed in Covington, GA. She was also a very active member of Transfiguration Episcopal Church here in Rome.
Survivors include her two sons; Bob Doster and his wife Earlene of Eatonton, GA. and Bill Doster of Atlanta, GA., one granddaughter; Melissa Madsen and her husband Kevin of Loganville, GA. and three great grandchildren; August Madsen, Julia Anne Madsen and Olivia Madsen.
A memorial for Mrs. Doster was held Saturday morning April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Transfiguration Episcopal Church with Rev. Linda Pineo officiating. Inurnment of ashes was held following the service at the church’s memory gardens. The family received friends Friday evening April 25, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Transfiguration Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to be made to the Rome Little Theater 530 Broad St. Rome, GA. 30161.
