
Mrs. Jarrett was born in Rome, Georgia on May 10,1927, daughter of the late George Waddell and the late Beulah Waddell. She was preceded in death by her husband James A Jarrett, in 1997, son James Michael Jarrett, by a sister Silvey Waddell, by a sister Marjorie Waddell, by a sister Jane Waddell Abernathy. Mrs. Jarrett was a member at New Bethel Baptist Church.
In the mid 1980s Mrs. Jarrett owned the local game room across from Floyd Medical Center. People all around town came to "Miriam's Game Room" to enjoy a sandwich, Mrs Pac-man, and pinball. After closing the arcade because of her husband’s health issues, she spent the rest of her days as a caregiver for her husband, son, and sister.
Survivors include a daughter Gloria Lynn Hollingsworth and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Andy Hollingsworth and his wife Kathleen and their 2 children, Bryan Hollingsworth and his wife Callette and their 4 children, Greg Jarrett and his wife and 3 children.
Funeral services were held at the graveside on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Cemetery with her grandson Bryan Hollingsworth Officiating.
The family received friends at Daniel's Funeral Home on Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
