
Mrs. Fox was born in Heard County, Ga. May 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Albert Hammond and Syphronie K. Kight Hammond. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Bussey, Andrew Adams, and Ray Hammond.
Mrs. Fox worked at Floyd Medical Center for over 30 years in the Operating Room as a Registered Nurse. She was a long time member of Fellowship Baptist Church and an avid member to her Sunday School Class. She was a mother to all of her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, and she dedicated her life to her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
Survivors include one daughter Terri Diane Stassi, one brother Bill Bussey, three grandchildren Michael L. Goodwin and his wife Melanie, Melissa D. Gladney and her husband Chad, and Andrew W. Gentry and his wife Amy; great grandchildren, Codie Gladney, Blake Gladney, Brianna Gladney, Jazz Kirk, and Hope Goodwin. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Tom and Joann Davis, and Mrs. Frances Lovell.
A graveside service was conducted Sunday February 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Floyd Memory Gardens on Hwy 411 with Rev. Joey Ineichen officiating. The family received friends Sunday at Daniel’s Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Active Pall Bearers are Darrell Wise, Blake Gladney, Codie Gladney, Chad Gladney, Michael Goodwin, and Robert Mayner. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contribution may be made to the charity of your choice. Daniel’s Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
