Quillie Rhyne Stewart

She was born December 9, 1922 in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late Howard Quillian and Ruth Braden Rhyne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Stewart in 1991, to whom she was married on July 12, 1941. She is survived by three children, Quillian Stewart and wife Anita of Rome, Linda Byars and husband James of Ball Ground, and Elizabeth Rose and husband Robert of Rome. She is also survived by five grandchildren Jim Byars, Emmett Stewart, Becky Roland, Erik Rose, Jason Stewart and Drew Fountain and eight great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at Daniel's Funeral Home on Monday, May 9, 2016, from 1:00-3:00 pm. The funeral was held immediately following in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Hopper officiating. Interment services were held at the graveside in the East View Cemetery.

Before retirement, Mrs. Stewart had been a full time homemaker until her children were grown. She worked for a time in the family business, Sam Stewart Cleaners, and for RACO mobile telephone service prior to her retirement in 1987.

The family would like to thank the employees of Winthrop Health and Rehabilitation for their special care, Lorene Richardson for several years of personal assistance, and Trinity United Methodist Church LRE Team members for their continued support and visits.

Erik Rose, Jason Stewart, Drew Fountain, Andre Fountain and Adrian Fountain will serve as pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers will be Harold Keeler and Charles Rainwater.
