
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Frank Ogletree and Sara Sibley Ogletree, as well as his brother, James Frank Ogletree, Jr.
Bob is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Diane Towers Harris Ogletree, his three children: Robert Sibley Ogletree, Jr. (Julie) of Rome, Elizabeth Towers Ogletree Ponder (Todd) of Rome, and James Fletcher Ogletree II of Albany, Georgia, and three grandsons: William Clifford Ogletree, William Ballard Ponder, and Robert Harrison Ponder. He is also survived by a nephew, James Frank Ogletree III (Sherry) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and niece Ellen Ogletree Brooks (Jack) of Newberry, South Carolina.
Bob was born on December 10, 1949 in Greenville, Georgia. He graduated from The University of Georgia and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
Bob will be remembered as an honorable man and faithful servant who loved the Lord and loved his family. He retired after practicing law for forty-two years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher. Bob also loved to hunt and share his love of the outdoors with his family.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at the Ogletree Cemetery in Meriwether County, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 101 East 3rd St., Rome, GA 30161 or to Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Rd., Rome, GA 30161.
