It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Douglas Boyd Nesbitt, age 67, of Rosetown, SK (formally of Saskatoon) on October 2, 2013. Doug is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 43 years, Pat (Spence); along with his daughter Nicole (Trevor) Benning, granddaughters Zoe and Sami, sisters JoAnn Jones and Bev Cenaiko, and many loving extended family members including cousins, nephews and a much loved niece. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Doris (Nan) Nesbitt. Doug was a caring father, husband, gramps and loyal friend to all. Doug was strong-willed; always offering his help and opinions no matter solicited or not. Before retiring, Doug had a long career in the potash and uranium mining industry, both in sales and as a Millwright. In his spare time Doug enjoyed tinkering in the garage with his ’69 Barracuda, touring the show n’ shine summer car circuit, curling and fishing whenever he could get away. He was an active Freemason, member of the Rosetown Dusty Wheels Auto Club, and volunteered over the years for the Rosetown & District Museum. Family and close friends are invited to a Celebration of Doug’s life on Tuesday, October 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Clements Rosetown Funeral Home, 510 Young Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. The family would like to thank the volunteer Rosetown fire department for all their efforts and the members of the Dusty Wheels for their kind words and tasty food. Condolences for the family may be left at www.clementsrosetownfuneralhome.com Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Amanda Starosta of Clements Rosetown Funeral Home (306) 882-2662.
