Elsie Calvert passed away on December 1, 2013 at the Rosetown Nursing Wing. She was born to the late William and Marion Klemmer of the Oliver District on August 19, 1917. She was educated and lived much of her life in and around Rosetown. On June 12, 1939 she married Sidney Calvert and after the wedding left for Vermilion Alberta where Sidney and his brother Charlie owned and operated a woodworking shop. They later returned to Saskatchewan and took up farming in the Anglia district. Elsie and Sidney retired from farming in 1974 and moved to Rosetown. Some of Elsie’s hobbies were playing and mastering the organ, fishing, golfing and polishing rocks. In Elsie’s later years she spent many hours knitting for the Red Cross. The memory of Elsie will be cherished by her three children Irene (Lloyd) Werboweskie, Kenneth (Lois) Calvert and Lloyd (Patricia) Calvert. She will be loved and remembered by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her many friends. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Sidney on June 23, 1995 and brothers Franklin in 1944, Howard in 1990, Albert in 1997 and Jack in 2003. A Graveside Service for immediate family will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations in memory of Elsie may be made to the Rosetown Nursing Wing.
