Ernest passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Rosetown Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Ernest volunteered many hours with the Boy Scouts, Good Sam R.V. Club, Knights of Columbus, Arts & Environment Committee with the Catholic Church and local square dancing groups. He was involved with all his children’s activities, whether it was at the arena for hockey, the gym for gymnastics, or outdoors at Boy Scout camps. During his retirement Ernest enjoyed many hobbies, such as square dancing, flying remote controlled airplanes, camping, canoing and other outdoor activities. Being the loving family man that he was he took great pleasure in spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Ernest will be sadly missed by his wife of four years, Jayne; sons, David (Arlee) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Richard of Calgary, Alberta, Kevin of Airdrie, Alberta and daughter, Melanie (Chris) of Chestermere, Alberta and four grandchildren. He is also survived by Jayne’s children, Trudy (Terry) of Dodsland, Saskatchewan; Roy (Julie) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Shannon (Rick) of Wilkie, Saskatchewan; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Monique, Rose (Gordon), sister Alice, Alfred (Carol), Leo (Georgette), Luc (Kathy), Lucille (Orest), and Adele (Marcel).
Ernest is predeceased by his first wife of 40 years, Clareann. We would also like to thank all the Home Care nurses, Doctors and Nurses for their special attention and care they provided for Ernest.
