Ms. Jeannie Eyval Porter

Jeannie passed away at the Rosetown & District Health Centre on July 10, 2013 at the age of 82 years. She was born on August 25, 1930 in Rosetown, SK to William and Clara Porter. She grew up in Rosetown where she attended school and following that attended Robertson Secretarial School in Saskatoon. Jeannie married Fern Desharnais and had two wonderful children, Jacqueline and Gerald. After her separation from Fern, Jeannie moved to Whitehorse and where she worked for five years before returning to Rosetown in 1979 where she became a Physiotherapy Assistant for 15 years until her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and sewing. Jeannie is survived by her daughter Jackie Baird of Rosetown, SK, son Gerald (Cyndi) Desharnais of Whitehorse, YT, three grandchildren Tabitha (Dona), Crystal and Kevin all of Whitehorse, YT, five great grandsons Kyle, James, Mason, Haydn and Lucius, brother Bill (Betty) Porter, niece Glenna (Terry) Sparks and nephew Doug Porter. She was predeceased by her parents Clara (Inez) and William Porter. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Clements Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Rosetown Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
