

1932 – 2011
Lloyd Dallas passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Rosetown & District Health Centre at the age of 79 years. Lloyd was born on February 8, 1932 on the farm south of Bounty SK. He received his education at the Bonnie Doon School. At the completion of his schooling, he worked construction and farmed in the Bounty District. He married Verna Mae Long on April 18, 1952 and they continued to farm in the Bounty District and then at Herschel. With Verna’s passing in 2001, Lloyd farmed until he fully retired to the home they bought in Rosetown in 2009. Lloyd spent most of the winter in Rosetown and Texas. He played with the “Old Time Fiddlers”, sang with “The Odds and Ends” and in the senior choral group in Rosetown. He was a member of the Herschel Legion and enjoyed times spent with his friends and family. Lloyd is survived by his son Murray (Linda) and their children Greg (Jo Ashley) and their daughter Kayden, and Arlette (Joseph) and their children Elizabeth and Joey; son Gerry (Teresa) and their children Amanda (Marc) and their daughter Olivia, Steven and Casey; daughter Brenda and her children Kenny & Trevor; sisters Hazel Nelson, Shirley (Vic) Hnatyszyn and Lynda (Jack) Ruttle; brother Dale (Lois) Dallas; sisters-in-law Blanche Long and Darlene Long as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife Verna, a baby daughter in 1957 and twins in 1965, parents Merriel and Gladys (Lougheed), brothers-in-law Keith Nelson, Gordon Long and Marvin Long and his father and mother-in-law John & Mabel Long. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosetown United Church with Reverend Jo-Ann Hills officiating. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Clements Rosetown Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
