Martha Mamika was called home by our Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 8th after enduring a long struggle with illness. She was born May 20, 1926, along the Dnieper River in the Ukraine, to Paulo and Nastia Kasidub.
She, and her family, were displaced by the World War II conflict which ravaged Europe, ultimately arriving in Munich, Germany, where she met and married her husband of 67 years on June 2, 1946. Immigrating to the United States in 1950, she and her husband raised two sons and one daughter, in Roseville, California.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters, Katherine, Anna and Maria. She is survived by her husband Bill Mamika of Roseville, CA; daughter Katherine Smith and her husband James of Danville, CA; son Paul Mamika and his wife Ida of Fair Oaks, CA; and son Anatoly Mamika and his wife Sarah of Merritt Island, FL. She was also blessed with three grandsons, Andrew Smith of San Luis Obispo, CA; Daniel Smith of Davis, CA; Chief Petty Officer Roger Mamika and his wife Nicole and great grandson Griffin of Ft. Meade, MD; two granddaughters, Lisa Bolin and her husband Daniel and great granddaughter Kailah of Austin, TX; and Nancy Williams and her husband Rhys, great grandson Evan and great granddaughter, Melissa of Palm Bay, FL.
Funeral service will be held at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA at 10am on Thursday, August 15, 2013.
