I knew Shirley from the days when we attended school together.  We attended Vernon Street School, Atlantic Street School, Roseville High School (we were graduates in the  class of 1960).  Often we were in the same classrooms.  We also attended Sierra College in Auburn.  Beginning in 1961, my family lived next door to the Nelson family.

Shirley participated in many of the school social activities, (clubs, high school dances, etc.).  She had a good sense of humor and always enjoyed being with her friends.  Many members of the class of 1960 remember Shirley fondly.

If it hadn't been for Shirley, I don't know what would have happened to me. I was on the verge of becoming homeless and nobody wanted me. The insecurities of my formative years would cause me to become a social outcast. As a result, I wasn't always very nice - sometimes, if necessary, I would even resort to biting people. No one understood me or put up with my outrageous behavior - no one except for Shirley that is. She loved me unconditionally. Because of that I loved her back. I will miss her desperately. If you were wondering what happened to me, I am currently "volunteering" at Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary.

So thankful that Shirley loved JESUS and that she was a prayer warrior for our LORD!!

I will miss Shirley dearly.  She was one of the most positive people I know she could do anything.  You will be dearly missed my dear cousin.  I love you

I am grateful to God for Shirley's life, her friendship, and her prayers. Her voice was a voice of encouragement, joy, and godliness.  She was a prayer warrior that selflessly gave for many years without asking for anything in return.  I pray for her loved ones--that they will be comforted and come to know the true, living God that Shirley knew so well.  To see Shirley again, accept the price Jesus paid for our admission into Heaven and make Him your Lord.  That's what Shirley did and because of that I know I will see her again.

Shirley was a real mainstay on our weekday prayer call.  She will be greatly missed.  She was a real friend and prayer warrior.  I hope to meet her in person wen we all get to heaven.  God bless her journey to her new home.

We'll miss dear cousin Shirley, although we know she's celebrating in the presence of Jesus.  I tried to call her while out for a walk once a month or so, and we always had a good visit over the phone.

Shirley became a dear friend through our week day prayer call. She was a bubbly personality. It was a pleasure to pray and visit with her. I've never met her, but look forward to the day I see her in Heaven. Praise God.

We will greatly miss Shirley on our daily Faith2Action prayer call.  We're praying for strength and peace in the days and weeks ahead for the family.

Shirley's smiling face will be missed at Bible Study Fellowship on Monday nights.  I pray you find comfort in knowing she is now with her Lord and Savior.  God bless you all.
