Born the son of English immigrants on 31 Mar 1925 to Thomas George Hitchenor & Eleanor Violet Gower, he grew up on their orchard in Live Oak. At age 17 after WWII broke out, he joined the merchant marines. Following the war he served in the army in occupied Japan. Upon discharge he settled in Sacramento where he began a lifetime career in auto industry sales and moved to Newcastle in 1970. He is survived by his three children and nine grand children. Graveside services will be held at Newcastle Cemetery Monday April 3 at 2pm.
