June 3, 1925 – June 20, 2018
Velma was called home by Jesus – her Lord and Savior. She was 93. A native of Ordway, Colorado – she had lived in Roseville for 63 years.
She worked for the Roseville City School District and in 1986 was awarded employee of the year. Velma retired after 36 years of dedicated service.
She belonged to the American Legion Alyn Butler Post 169 and was also a lifetime member of the Maya Bow Hunters.
She is survived by her six children, daughters Jean Hamilton, Judy Burris, Jan Wakefield and Jeri Lyons all of Roseville; sons Jim Wakefield of Orangevale and Joe Wakefield of Sacramento. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Lambert Funeral Home in Roseville will conduct the viewing Thursday, June 28th from 4pm-7pm and the funeral service Friday, June 29th at 2pm.
Reception will be at Maidu Community Center at 3:30pm.
