A woman of profound creativity and intellect, Belle lived by the mantra that "Life would be nothing without a book; if there are no books, there is no life."
Belle was an exceptionally talented artist whose drawings and paintings captured the beauty she saw in the world. Her skill with a needle and thread was legendary; she crafted everything from clothes for her family to the drapes that warmed their home. Her handmade holiday crafts remain cherished treasures. For 55 years, she was a dedicated member of her Pinnacle group, a circle of friends that grew together through decades.
Belle's heart was anchored to Belle Isle, where she spent countless hours finding peace and joy. Belle’s history with the island was as spirited as she was. At the age of 14, she showed her determination by lying about her age to secure her first job at the Belle Isle Casino. Her first job grew into a lifelong devotion. Over the decades, Belle’s sanctuary became a family tradition.
