Many happy memories of Aunt Dorothy. Sunday afternoons listening to Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White on the organ! Hanging out in the backyard!

Dorothy was a wonderful sister to my dad. He loved her very much. "Dorothy, Dorothy, Dorothy" He would say. 

What a wonderful life she had. 

Remembering a very special lady. May all her family continue in remembering the good times and the better days they enjoyed with Dorothy.  God give you the peace that only he can give at this time.

My Grandma Dorothy was a pillar of strength in our family. She helped raise me alongside my parents. She was as loving as she was tough, and as fiery as she was gentle-hearted. In her lifetime, she raised six children and lost three well before their time. She was a HARD worker and unshakably independent until the day she died. She loved to cook in her younger days, and holidays were a very big deal in our family. She created a big, beautiful spread in her small home, and I’ll never forget how hard she worked to make every holiday feel special. She loved to garden and get her hands in the dirt. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of watching her water her beautiful flowers and following behind her with my own watering can. She took enormous pride in keeping a well manicured corner lot. Her green thumb was truly admirable. She tirelessly cared for my Grandfather - who was legally blind and suffered many health problems - and loved him fiercely. Each loss broke her, yet made her stronger. She battled cancer more times than anyone I’ve ever known and WON. She loved a good 7 & 7, or as my Grandpa used to call them, “a high ball.” Once I was *old enough,* I prided myself on mixing her drink just the way she liked it. 

She and my Grandfather are a large part of the reason I chose to pursue singing as a career and become a professional musician and a voice coach. They both told me to never stop singing and I haven’t. Now and forever, I sing for them.  

But most of all - my Grandma loved our entire family with her whole heart. Her children, her Grandchildren, her Great Grandchildren, and her Great Great Grandchildren. All of us are here today because of the legacy she built and left for us. She was a small, but mighty force of nature in our lives, and I’ve yet to meet a stronger, more enduring human being than my Grandmother. 

Grandma, thank you for loving me. Thank you for being an emblem of strength for our family.

 “I love you a whole bunch.” 


Mom we will miss you immensely.  You loved to cook, garden, dance & enjoy a 7 & 7 too.   You lived a long independent life, some days were not easy for you.  No more pain, worry, you are lifted to the pearly gates of Heaven to be with your Husband, Daughter & 2 Sons.  We will surely meet some day, until then Perpetual Grace & Peace be granted unto you.  RIP Mom, you are loved by all of your family & friends
