I remember taking a car ride with Beanie (Karen) Susan and James to the Turkey House for dinner. That day we laughed and were at peace with life and with each other.  At one point, I said to everyone at the table, 'Hey look out the window;' Though we'd had difficulty finding the place, my name was on the Street Sign: JOSE. JUST ONE OF THOSE NECESSARY MOMENTS IN LIFE. SUSAN and JAMES were still here with us. And although they have a new life now; I am sure they're still with us now too, when we speak to them, they can hear us, and we can hear them, if we listen just a little closer. Jim  would called me on occasion and tell me he was coming down to Florida for a visit. it would take him almost a month  to get to Florida. I asked him why it took so long ,  Ray I had to stop off and see the biggest ball of twine and the worlds largest frying pan you know! Jim had the best jokes  and story’s

My favorite memories of my GPA were on his houseboat fishing with him and grandma and grandpa letting me drive when I was just a child.  I was on top of the world on that lake.  I am sooo glad I was able to move back from Chicago and spend valuable time with my smart, silly and funny GPA.  I will love you forever grandpa.  

I’ve known Jim my whole life.  He was my neighbor and the dad of one of my best friends on Delaware Street in Roseville.
I will always remember him as the nicest dad on the street. Very often I was at their house when Jim came home from work. I remember that he was always happy and so friendly. I’m sure he was very tired. I thought it was so funny that he had nicknames for all his kids.
I was able to sit with him a few months ago for a long talk and he was just as I always remembered him. He was so funny and we laughed talking about so many memories.
He will be missed by all and I am glad I knew him.

I will miss "Big J".  We had fun growing up, had a good Mom and Dad, graduated from Eastland High School.  I moved to Colorado on 1 January 1954 and still live there.  I admired him in his later years when he was pretty much house bound but when we talked on the phone, he was always in good spirits and made me laugh.  Sometimes we would talk and laugh for 45 minutes.  I don't recall him every calling me Bob in later years.  It was always "Speed" or "Lewis" and that's  another story.  The last time I visited him he told me he would give me the family discount for parking my car in his drive way.  I told him I couldn't afford it and parked on the street.  He gave me other "family discounts" that I still laugh about.  

Big J, you are a good brother and I will miss you.

I met james when he came to Colorado 10 years ago to celebrate his brother Bob’s 80th birthday.  He played the harmonica for us. We had a lot of laughs and I’m so glad I had the chance to meet james. RIP
