I just found out about Alvin Mcdougald death. He once defended and got me an acquittal 1985 on a burglary charge in Macon Ga. I will always remember his very powerful court presence as a young lawyer who went to bat for me to keep me from going to prison. I do not know why I thought of him, but I guest  because I needed to say goodbye and thank you very much.

I am very sad to hear of Alvin's passing and I will very much miss seeing Alvin on the basketball court and baseball field while coaching my  9 & 10 year olds. My condolences to the family and Godspeed Alvin.

Alvin was one of the good guys. When trying to find the right words to post about him, my favorite scripture came on my heart;
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven." Matthew 5:16

That was Alvin McDougald.

I was so shocked & saddened to see the article of Mr. McDougald's passing. I have a 14 year old son, that has played baseball through the Roswell Rec for several years. I always enjoyed his calmness & wit, when he Umpired our games. He will certainly be missed, by many. My condolences to his family.

It is a lovely testament to a person's spirit when it radiates through the phone.  Alvin's light was a bright spot in any day we had an opportunity to connect.  I can only believe his work was done and it was time to come home. To Alvin's family at home and at work I hope you find peace soon with this sudden loss knowing so many of us share in our own small way.

I send my sinceres pryers and wishes to the family. I first met Alvin a fraternity brother at UGA and was always touched by his joy for life and others. The blessings of his Life were evident then and now evident in the light he has left with Lisa & Macy. May his family be warmed with the great memories and joy he brought to them and others. God has a good man in heaven! I will miss the sweet teas, jokes, smiles, and uplifting sprit!

When I heard of Alvin's passing my heart broke for all those he touched.  I can't picture him without a smile and I can still here his wonderful laugh.  It didn't matter what was going on around him, he exuded a sense of peace that brought calm to any storm.  More than anything, I will never forget how he beamed at any mention of his daughter.  There was no question that being the best father he could be, was his highest priority.  Despite everything else on his plate, he took time to check on me during the most difficult period of my life.  His faith was remarkable and I'm incredibly Grateful he shared a little with me.  I pray God leads you to acceptance during this difficult time so you may celebrate Alvin's life, just as he would want.  "We need more Alvins!" was often said in regards to his work ethic and job performance.  Now as I look back, I can say the World needs more Alvins in general.  May God bless you all.

Alvin (Emmitt Smith) was to me the Best example of Goodness that can be found in a person!  His smile and attitude will live on forever in those that were lucky enough to know him. Alvin was one of the finest human beings I have had the good fortune of knowing in my life. He was a man of kindness, generosity and tremendous integrity. He was truly among the best of us.
