Constance Marie Short of Alpharetta, Georgia, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, was born September 24, 1951. She peacefully departed this life to reconnect with her late husband Henry Short, Jr. on April 30, 2026.
Constance and Henry were devoted to one another for fifty years, forty seven years in marriage. They were the proud and loving parents to their sole child, Philip Armond Short.
Connie graduated from the University of Illinois, where she met Henry and began working for Sandusky Industries and Dress Barn, but after eight years in the workforce set her career aside to be a full time mother and wife.
Her kindness and generosity radiated from her and attracted all who were in her presence. Having never met a stranger, she would come out of a store or situation knowing a great deal of someone’s life story and usually with a new friend!
Both she and Henry took great pride in giving back providing opportunities and rewards for those coming up behind them. Connie became known as the “Barbie Lady” as she turned her basement into a pseudo “Barbie Rejuvenation Spa” to wash, clean up, and style Barbie dolls to give little girls with less means the opportunity to own a piece of that Barbie Magic.
Constance was the daughter of Jeff Clark, Jr. and Effie Beatrice Keys, who both preceded her in death. She had three siblings, Sheila Kelly, Johnny Goodlow III, and Joey Tyreese Goodlow (deceased).
She is survived and missed by her son Philip Short (Kyle Ann Larsen), In-laws Bobbie Short, Wiley Short (Melanie), Tommy Short, Nathaniel Short (Shiao-Chee), Roxanne, Beloved nieces and nephews Rochelle, Daniel, Lindsay, and Alexander. And dozens of life long friends.
Above all Connie was a loving, dedicated, fashionable and talkative wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. The impact of her love and her loss will be felt for a lifetime.
