Darrell was a beloved Father, Step-Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Father-In-Law, and Friend. He will be remembered for his stories of big fish and world travels, his jovial sense of humor, and his unconditional generosity. He was always looking to make someone laugh and he would give you his last dollar if you needed it. Our dad had so many hobbies and loved fixing broken things, he could replace a part on anything that you put in front of him. He was passionate about guitars, old cars, guns, vintage watches, pirate coins, and swords. He spent his life collecting and preserving things that have been left behind, lost, or forgotten by most of us. A lot lot of people probably think accountants are all numbers but my earliest memory is of our dad painting a landscape of a deer jumping over a log in the snowy woods, I can still smell the oil paint in the garage. He loved old westerns and science fiction movies, especially Star Trek. He wrote poetry and music and he played the guitar every day until his hands no longer allowed it.
Throughout his life Darrell Emerson achieved many accomplishments and travelled all over the world. He served in the Air Force and worked as a Certified Public Accountant until his retirement. He touched the lives of countless individuals through his career often doing work for free for local small businesses, family members, and friends.
Darrell will be deeply missed, he is survived by his four children Sarah Emerson, Kelly Gaiolini, Darrell Emerson, and John Nelson, twelve grandchildren, Sun Emerson, sisters Tammy and Beth, his dear friend Rick, his beloved Yorkie Odie, and many cherished Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Step-Father, Father, and two of his Sisters.
A private memorial service will be held with immediate family to celebrate his life and honor his contributions to our world.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Donations to the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org in memory of Darrell Emerson. Darrell’s departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his companionship and laughter will forever be cherished.
