Ernest Stephen Lask, a remarkable man of many talents and boundless passion, departed this world on May 11, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and achievement that will forever be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Born on February 22, 1944 in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois, Ernest was the beloved son of Arthur Lask and Beverly Sugar. From an early age, he exhibited a natural curiosity and a thirst for knowledge that would shape the course of his extraordinary life. Ernest's educational journey led him to graduate from Austin High School, where he laid the foundation for his future successes. He furthered his academic pursuits at Roosevelt University and Chicago Teachers College.
Ernest started his career as a high school teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. At the Chicago Board of Education, he met his wife of 55 years. Joan Allison Lask. In the years to come, Ernest would spend countless spare hours working with Joan in the development of Jo-Thor's Dog Training Academy and their Postsecondary school Jo-Thor's School for Dog Trainers.
After their move to Georgia in 1981, Ernest became a highly successful and award-winning mortgage broker, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike with his unwavering dedication and unparalleled expertise.
Ernest was a devoted father to his two daughters. Lisa Lask Torrico and Jamie Lask Payne, and his five grandchildren; Mavrick, Dylan, Felicia, Alton, and Arion whom he loved unconditionally and supported wholeheartedly. In addition to his immediate family, Ernest is survived by his cherished sister, Myrna Lask Romanoff and a host of extended family members and friends whose lives he touched in profound and meaningful ways.
Ernest Stephen Lask's departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the indelible mark he left on this world. His legacy of integrity, perseverance, and boundless love will continue to inspire generations to come.
A celebration of Ernest's life will be held on Sunday May 26 at 1pm. at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076, where family and friends will come together to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life.
