

Grace was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 30, 1923. She graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School. She married David L. Walsh in 1942 and moved to Norfolk VA where David was stationed in the U.S. Navy. They lived in VA, RI (North Kingstown), OH, CA, NH, FL & GA.
Grace was a wonderful wife and mother. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, oil and watercolor painting, crafting as well as cooking, baking and entertaining.
She was an excellent bridge player and life long reader. Grace was a Girl Scout Leader, President of several Navy Wives Clubs and mentor to young Naval wives.
Grace was sharp, witty and outspoken. She lived each day to the fullest. Her philosophy was that one should not worry or be distressed over problems because once you knew what the issue was, you could solve the problem. She also will be remembered for her sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Thomas William Rice and Olga Rice, her husband, Commander David L. Walsh, USN, bother, Thomas Francis Rice, and many sisters in laws/brother in laws
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Walsh Gottlieb (Kenneth), son, David L. Walsh (Diane), grandchildren; Clay Lauren Walsh (Lisa Congdon) & Michael D. Walsh, sister, Frances Lambert (Richard) and 4 generation of nieces & nephews
Services for the family will be at a later date in May 2016.
