Grady "Gray" Hollis Griggs, III

Gray was an incredible husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and artist and he will be terribly missed by all those that knew him. Gray was truly a maverick, forging his own path and never settling for what others might consider a conventional life or the status quo. He was a deep thinker, both philosophically and spiritually, and not afraid to challenge and reinvent himself to ensure he lived his life to the fullest. This is true not only of his life’s adventures but also for who he was as an artist - his diverse music was a lifelong quest to express his deepest thoughts and feelings, and he wasn’t afraid to try new things and put himself out there.

Gray’s positive disposition and outlook on life was infectious. He had a kind word for everyone, truly saw other people, listened to them, and made sure we knew how much we were loved. He was full of energy and humor. He was determined to be the best version of himself and be the best husband to Lauren, which he was. She was his first priority and soul mate. He was so happy and optimistic about the future. We are so grateful for the years he was with us, to always greet us with a smile, share in our successes, and support us in our challenges, and we are honored to continue to share his legacy.

A recording of the celebration of life will be available for those unable to attend. In lieu of flowers, Gray’s family has requested that donations be made to Nuci’s Space in his memory. Nuci’s Space provides a secure, affordable space where musicians gather to practice, network and promote participation in the music community of Athens, Georgia.
