Our beloved father Herbert Daniel (Danny) Abernathy passed away peacefully at his residence at PruittHealth Marietta on January 24, 2026 at the age of 78. He is survived by daughters Tracy (Keith) Knight and Tara (Grant) Brown, grandsons Trenton and Cody Knight, brothers Edward Abernathy and Kenneth Cagle and sister Francis Cagle, and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 20, 1948 to the late John Herbert Abernathy and Lilly Inez Abernathy Cagle. His childhood in Marietta, Georgia instilled a lifelong passion for pets and deer hunting, and he loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. Danny married the late Joyce Thaxton Abernathy on November 11, 1966. They lived in Roswell, Georgia. He worked for more than 40 years making printed circuit boards and components.
The graveside service will be held at Roswell Funeral Home & Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, Georgia on Friday, February 6 at 3:30p.m. All friends and family are welcome.
