Jan Cohen, 66, passed away on December 12, 2015 in Cumming, Georgia. He was born March 16, 1949 in Hartford, Connecticut, son of Benjamin and Rebecca Cohen. Jan graduated from Conard High School in 1967 and attended Lyndon State College where he later graduated in 1971. In 1973, Jan married Sheila Guter, his longtime childhood friend. Jan retired from both Aetna in Hartford, Connecticut where he worked for 25 years and later from Integrys in Chicago, Illinois. Jan also served as the President of the United Synagogues of West Hartford. Jan is survived by his wife, Sheila, his son, Eric, daughter-in-law Jennifer, grandsons Joshua, Zachary, and Samuel, and brother Elliott. Jan was a lifelong Disney fan and enjoyed trips to Disney World with his wife and grandsons. Funeral services will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, December 15, 2015 at 11:00. Memorial donations can be made in Jan's name to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, 355 Lexington Avenue, 15th Floor, New York, NY 10017 and the University of Florida Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Florida.
