

Byers led a remarkable and fulfilling life, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering, and his professional journey with Babcock & Wilcox led him all over the world. His passion and commitment to his career was evident to all who knew him, and he would go on to manage the entire engineering department.
Beyond his professional life, Byers was a loving Husband and Father, devoted to his family. He is survived by his spouse Mary Rogan, his children McKinney (Amber) and Rob (Carrie) Rogan, and his grandchildren Jax, Ellie, and Kate Rogan. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Rogan and sister Pat Meier and survived by his sisters Margaret Rogan and Elizabeth Wheless.
Byers could play almost any musical instrument and he loved to spend family gatherings singing and making music. He was also an avid sports fan who travelled the country watching his favorite team Georgia Tech.
A service to celebrate Byers’ life will be held at Dunwoody Baptist Church on December 4th. Calling hours will start at 10am and the service will start at 11am. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories of this remarkable person.
John Byers Rogan will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, compassion, and achievements will live on in the hearts and minds of those he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
