

Joy Farr Lackey, age 86 of Roswell, Georgia passed peacefully at Hearthstone Personal Care Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2022. Joy was born on May 25, 1935 in Roswell, Georgia, a daughter to the late Paul and Nell Smith Farr.
Her name fit her perfectly as she brought Joy to many. She was a giving, active and contributive member all her life at First Baptist Church of Roswell. At church she served on the benevolence committee, worked with The Drake House of Roswell, participated on the historical committee at church and was a member of the church choir for many years. Joy also was a secretary at First Baptist of Roswell Kindergarten for many years and loved children. Everyone who came into contact with Joy remembers her for her social vivacious personality. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed her life long friendships and had many fun stories to tell.
Joy is survived by her three children, Suzanne Cockrel, husband Donald of Woodstock, Brad Lackey, and Greg Lackey; and three loving grandchildren, Zack Cockrel, Cole Lackey, and Kaley Lackey.
Along with her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Dennis Lackey.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Roswell. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery of Roswell, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the church from one o'clock until the service hour. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers, Zack Cockrel, KeShawn Lawrence, Kenneth Westbrook, Rusty Shelton, Jeff Jennings, and Robert Jett.
