April 14th, 2018 Larry Press passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. Larry was born in the Bronx, NY on December 2nd, 1925. From New York to Georgia, everyone he encountered cherished every second they had with him. He was a member of the US Navy Armed Guard serving during WW2. He would go on to marry Eileen Press, the love of his life, for whom he was married to for fifty-six years. Larry worked as a Quality Control Manager in the avionics industry for over twenty- five years. Throughout his life, four things were a constant; reading, drawing, love, and laughter.
A true renaissance man, he had the skills of Picasso and Jerry Seinfeld wrapped into one, not to mention his amazing cooking ability. Aside from hobbies, Larry Press loved and cared about his friends and family above everything else. He was also a member of the Romeo’s (Retired Old Men Eating Out) when he moved to Georgia after the death of his wife. What started out as a boy’s club of his sons Marc, Mike, and Andy has blossomed into the large, wonderful family he loved so much. With his daughter in laws Jayne and Joan, his grandchildren Scott and Scotts wife Alison, Bryan, Sammi, Matthew and the newest addition his great grandson Jacob, he was always excited to see every single one of them, and vice versa.
Larry Press’s memorial service will be held on April 18th at the Georgia National Cemetery at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat @www.eccretreat.org or Honor flight Conyers P.O Box 81122 Conyers, GA 30013 Att: Dave Smith.
