Linda Diane Douglas, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on June 8, 1947, Linda was the cherished wife of Andrew Douglas and devoted mother to three daughters: Shana Davison (Andrew), Alexandrea Hamby (Chip), and Nichola Short (Shawn). Her family was the center of her life, and her love for them was boundless.
Linda was also a proud and loving grandmother to four grandsons—Cameron Davison, Parker Davison, Drew Short, and Nate Short—and two granddaughters, Olivia Hamby and Devon Green. Her family was her heart, and she made a lasting impact on all those she held dear, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joy.
Linda was a woman of many talents, with a natural gift for art and a deep love of reading and music. Her artistic talents brought beauty to the world around her, and her appreciation for the power of creativity inspired all who knew her. She was also an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and embrace the beauty of the world. She supported her husband’s passion for Porsches volunteering at multiple Porsche Club events for over 30 years.
During the Vietnam War, Linda played a significant role by working with an airline that transported soldiers to and from the conflict. This experience exemplified her caring nature and her commitment to supporting others during a difficult time in history.
More than just a talented artist and traveler, Linda was a woman who made a profound impact on everyone she encountered. She had a unique ability to brighten any room she entered, and her thoughtful gestures and deeply considered gifts made those around her feel truly seen and appreciated. Linda’s kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
Linda’s legacy is one of love, thoughtfulness, and dedication to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. The world is a little dimmer without her presence, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who carry her memory.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 pm to celebrate Linda's life and honor her contributions to our world.
