

Mario Machado, 72, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on January 13, 2013. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road in Roswell, on January 17 at 11:00am. A prayer service will be held at the same location beginning at 11:30am.
Mario was born in Havana, Cuba, to Dr. Mario V. Machado and Elba Ramirez-Corria on October 25, 1940. He attended La Salle School in Cuba and then earned his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. He was a construction business owner before immigrating to the United States, with his wife, Mildred. He proudly obtained his U.S. citizenship in 1970. After a 33 year career with the Environmental Protection Agency, he retired in 2009. He enjoyed life to the fullest, travelling the world with his wife, family and friends. He loved the beach, motorcycle riding, boating, and being with his family. He adored his eight grandchildren who lovingly called him their “Abu”. He will be remembered by them as attending their activities, playing games, joking around and taking interest in everything they were doing.
Mario is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Mario V. Machado and Elba Ramirez-Corria and one nephew, Clifford Padial. Mario is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Mildred, of Cumming, children Mario of Roswell GA, Roy of Dallas TX and Leticia of Dunwoody GA. He is also survived by his brother, Carlos Padial of Baton Rouge LA, and eight grandchildren. Surviving also are nephews Carlos Padial Jr. and Martin Padial of Baton Rouge LA, Andre Padial of Dunwoody GA and niece Marietta Murphy of Memphis TN. He is also survived by many great nephews and great nieces.
