Margie was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt whose warmth, loyalty, and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was widely known for her deep love of the Georgia Bulldogs and her unwavering dedication to her tennis teams. An avid boater, Margie found great joy and peace being on the water, whether at the beach or by a lake.
For more than 25 years, Margie worked as a microbiologist at Pathcon Laboratories. Through her work, she traveled across the country and around the world, testing water for disease and contributing to healthier communities. Her commitment to protecting public health reflected her quiet passion for making the world a better place.
Margie is survived by her loving parents, Edward and Mary Viskup; her sisters, Elizabeth (Justin) Griesemer and Donna (Robert) Calhoun; her brother, Michael (Katie) Viskup; her nieces, Emily and Madilynn Griesemer; and her nephews, Liam and Sullivan Calhoun. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service celebrating Margie’s life and honoring her contributions will be held on January 2, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home. Please join the family in wearing UGA attire or red and black to honor Margie’s love for the GA bulldogs to the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on January 3, 2026 (time and location to be announced), immediately followed by a wake at the home of her sister, Donna Calhoun.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Margie’s memory to the Sarcoma Foundation of America at www.curesarcoma.org.
