Born and raised in New York City, Lee and her beloved husband Samuel Eckstein spent most of their married life as residents of Old Bridge, New Jersey. Through the years, Lee was very civic minded and served on various committees. Lee was a strong supporter of youth activity groups such as the Little League, Pop Warner Football and also volunteered as a girls’ softball coach and cheerleader mother.
Lee & Sam moved to Alpharetta in 1998 so that they could spend their retirement years near their daughter Jill Eckstein.
This past December, the Ecksteins celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary.
In addition to her husband and daughter, Mrs. Eckstein is also survived by; her son Richard Eckstein and his wife Dory of Discovery Bay California, grandsons Beau Eckstein of Concord, California and Damian Eckstein, his wife Alexis and Lee’s three great-grandchildren Reese, Dylan and Ava, of Coto de Caza, California.
The family also wants to acknowledge and thank Nora and her staff at Helping Hearts Hospice for the loving care provided. They also requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Helping Hearts Hospice , 2346 Wisteria Drive, Suite 210, Snellville, GA 30078.
