

Pamela Yvonne Thomas of Johns Creek, was called home to the Lord on March 16, 2020 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family knowing how much she was loved.
Pam was born in Chicago February `17, 1951 and was a graduate of Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, IL. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. While in college she was named Miss Fiesta and represented the city of San Antonio at the Winter Carnival in Minneapolis. Pam met her husband Bob and love of her life in Texas and they married in 1974. They first settled in Houston and Pam began a career with Saks Fifth Avenue where she utilized her earlier experience with Marshall Fields in Chicago. Pam always had a keen eye and interest in fashion and enjoyed the retail environment where she could pursue her passion and interest.
Bob’s career involved many relocations over the first 20 years of their marriage and Pam supported each relocation as an adventure and opportunity for personal growth. In addition to Houston, she and her family lived in Harrisburg, PA, Greensboro, NC, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Hong Kong before finally settling in Johns Creek, GA in 1996. Pam found happiness and satisfaction in raising her family and being very active in the lives of each member of her family as well as her many friends.
Pam is survived by her husband Bob of Johns Creek, her sons Brad (Tracy) of Charlotte, NC; Brent (Brianne) of Denver, CO; and daughter Ashley Conner (Kevin) of Suwannee, GA. Additionally, she was known to her grandchildren as BB and loved Charlie, Emmie and Calvin beyond words and with all of her heart.
Pam was an attentive daughter and caregiver for her mother Genevieve, who passed away in 2016 after a long illness. She was an active supporter and officer for over twenty years of the Country Club of the South Charity Guild. She was a volunteer mother in organizing and supporting fundraisers and other events at all of her children’s schools including St. Aloysius in Bryn Mawr, PA, The Hong Kong International School, Holy Redeemer in Johns Creek and Marist School in Atlanta. She was also a member of the Parents Council at Wake Forest University and a supporter of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Pam was an active and faithful member of St. Brigid’s Catholic Church in Johns Creek.
Pam’s generous and loving spirit made a positive impact on so many close friends and acquaintances in addition to her family during her life. In this regard, she was a special lady, a wonderful wife and mother and a caring friend with a beautiful smile and a warm and loving personality. She was always there to comfort those in need of a boost or to recognize an important event. She loved to make all family birthdays and accomplishments memorable and special. Pam always had the perfect gift, delicious food and creative decorations to add to any celebration. Her life was defined by faith, family and friends. Her presence will never be forgotten and her passing will be mourned by those who knew and loved her.
All public Masses in the Archdiocese of Atlanta are currently suspended due to the Coronavirus. The family has decided to postpone Pam’s wake, funeral and reception until later this year at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 3400 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA 30022.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her honor to St. Brigid’s Catholic Church in Johns’ Creek. Please indicate that the donation is for the St Brigid Building Fund.
