

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, William Joe, Frances Hom, Elizabeth Joe, Albert Joe, Harry Joe, Edward Joe and Ruth Chen. Robert is survived by his wife, Guen, of 58 years; Terri and Tom Kennedy (daughter, Jade, and granddaughter, Alixah); Suzanne and John Taylor (daughter, Courtney, and son, Brandon); Patrick and Melissa Joe; Lawrence and Kellie (daughter, Lauren, and son, Casey, daughter, Abby, and granddaughter, Mia). He is also survived by his brother, George Joe, Herbert and Rosa Joe, and Pauline Holleran, and many loving nephews, nieces and cousins (seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren).
He joined the Navy and served in World War II and the Korean War. He worked for the FAA for 30 years. He retired from the FAA. Then he decided to drive a school bus for special needs children. He even got involved in helping them during craft time and assist them in making fun things.
Robert was an active member of the Roswell First Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and served in the church library for many years. He also loved working in the church nursery. He also served as a volunteer fireman in his earlier years.
He served with the Boy Scouts for many years and received the Silver Beaver award for distinguished service to scout youth and continued serving with scouts in his later years here at Roswell First Baptist Church.
He was a member of the American Legion and also a member of the Lions Club and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow award for dedicated humanitarian services.
One of his favorite things he enjoyed doing was making a pot of Brunswick Stew for different occasions at church functions especially during vacation Bible school and also for family get-togethers. He loved the outdoors and fishing. One of his favorite things was taking the children fishing.
